Information We Collect

We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use Punsly. We may collect:

• Topics you type into the generator, which are sent to our server to create your results
• Star ratings you choose to submit
• Basic device and browser information (e.g. device type, browser, and general location based on your IP address)
• Usage data (pages viewed, time on site) via analytics tools
• Cookies and similar technologies used by us and our partners (see Cookies below)
• Messages you send us by email
• If you subscribe to web push notifications, a subscription identifier and related device/browser information (see Web Push Notifications below)

How We Use Information

• To run the generator and show you results
• To calculate and display the average rating
• To understand how the site is used and improve it

AI Generator & Topics You Enter

When you tap Generate, the topic you type is sent to our server, which runs on Cloudflare, and is processed by a third-party AI service to create your puns or jokes. We use topics only to generate your results and to keep the service running and secure.

Please do not enter names, contact details, or other personal information as a topic.

“Saved” Feature & Local Storage

When you copy or save a joke on Punsly, it is stored using your browser’s local storage on your own device. We also keep a small note on your device about whether you have rated the tool, and the rating you gave, so the rating stars work correctly.

This data is not sent to or stored on our servers, is not linked to any personal identity, and is only accessible from the same browser and device you used to save it. The only exception is your star rating itself, which is sent to our server when you submit it so we can show the average. Clearing your browser data will remove what is stored on your device.

If you install Punsly as an app, some site files are stored on your device so the app loads quickly.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We also use similar technologies such as local storage. Here is what we and our partners use them for:

• Essential: keeping features working, such as your saved jokes and rating status, and security protections provided by our infrastructure provider
• Analytics: understanding how visitors use the site (for example, Google Analytics)
• Advertising: third-party ad networks use cookies to show and measure ads (see Advertising below)
• Affiliate tracking: when you click an affiliate link, the partner or its affiliate network may set a cookie so a purchase can be credited to us (see Affiliate Links below)

Advertising

Punsly displays advertisements served by third-party advertising networks, which may include Adsterra, Monetag, and Google AdSense. These networks may use cookies, device identifiers, your IP address, and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them, measure their performance, and, where allowed, tailor ads to your interests based on your visits to this and other websites.

We do not control these companies’ cookies or how they use data, and we do not give them your name or contact details. Each network’s own privacy policy explains its practices. Clicking an ad takes you to a third-party site with its own policies, and an ad on Punsly is not an endorsement.

Affiliate Links & Disclosure

Some links on Punsly are affiliate links, including links to Zazzle products. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This helps keep Punsly free. Where affiliate links appear, we place a short notice near them.

To credit a purchase to us, Zazzle or its affiliate network may set a cookie or use a similar technology when you click. Zazzle handles your order, payment, shipping, and support, and its own privacy policy applies to that data. We do not receive your payment or delivery details.

Our Products on Redbubble

Punsly-branded designs are sold through our shop on Redbubble. When you buy from that shop, Redbubble processes your order, payment, production, shipping, returns, and customer support, and collects and uses your personal data under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment or delivery details, though we may see sales reports from Redbubble.

Analytics

We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use our site. These tools may use cookies to collect anonymized or pseudonymized usage data. You can disable analytics cookies through your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Web Push Notifications

We use OneSignal to deliver web push notifications to our users. If you subscribe to our push notifications, OneSignal may collect device and browser-related information, including:

• Unique subscription identifiers (Player/Subscription ID)
• Browser type, operating system, and language settings
• IP address and approximate location data
• Information regarding interaction with our notifications

This data is used solely to send you notifications about new puns, content updates, and site announcements. We do not sell or share your information with unauthorized third parties.

Third-Party Services & Links

Our site and generator run on infrastructure from providers such as Cloudflare, which process technical data like your IP address and request details to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and keep it secure.

Punsly links to other sites, including Pinterest, Redbubble, and Zazzle. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other sites, so please read their policies when you visit them.

Children’s Privacy

Punsly’s content is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant age in your region). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Your Rights
